Since a correct data import into the system is essential, we have prepared a summary of the most important information about data imports in Sugester. Just in case, it's worth keeping this list handy at all times.
Files imported to Sugester must be in xls or csv format
In customer import, customer contacts, tasks and deals, the file should not have more than 5000 records. If it is larger, split it into several smaller ones
In every import, one of the most important things is proper column mapping. Above each column of the imported file there is a menu to select the field where the content of that column should go. If a given column contains email addresses - select "E-mail" from the menu, if the column contains tax ID numbers - select "Tax ID" etc. If the file has a header (first row contains column titles), check the "File has header" option in the top left corner. Always verify whether the system has correctly assigned the headers
Mark columns in the file that you do not want to include in the import as "skip". Data from those columns will not be imported.
If you periodically upload a new contact database and use the duplicate strategy "Update existing" or "Ignore entry", remember that contacts are matched to customers based on the following data in this order:
ID, Customer ID, Tax ID, Customer Name, National ID, email, phone
When uploading a new database, the system first tries to match records based on the ID column; if it cannot match by ID, it searches by Customer ID, then by Tax ID number, etc.
If your customers that you want to import to Sugester have more than 1 email address, use customer contact import to upload all of them to the system.
Remember that in deal import, deals are linked to customers only by customer name. This means that if your deal import file does not have a "Customer Name" column, the data will be imported but will not be assigned to any customer
If you have the Sugester integration with InvoiceOcean enabled and you import deals to the CRM, nothing will happen in InvoiceOcean. Only clicking the "Add invoice" button in the CRM will issue a document
In task import, if imported tasks are to be immediately assigned to customers already in the CRM, create a column with the Tax ID number in the imported file and select the "Customer" header for it during import. Before doing so, first verify whether all customers in the CRM have the "Tax ID" field filled in
To import an email archive to Sugester, you must export it from your current email client in eml or maildir format.
Before starting the import process, make sure your email archive is packed into ZIP files no larger than 200 MB.
When importing emails, remember to select which mailbox the messages should be imported to
